Welcome to our End of Life Book Club, a community dedicated to exploring the profound themes of death, dying, and the human experience at the end of life. This book club was created by End of Life Doula, Melissa Wood to be able to share information related to death and dying.

We are a group of people who are interested in learning more about death and dying. We aim to foster understanding, compassion, and personal growth. Our book selections will all range in the death and dying, end of life genre. We believe that death and dying is a natural part of life, and we want to talk about it openly and honestly. We want to learn about the different ways that people experience death and dying, and we want to share our own experiences and thoughts.

In our meetings, we create a safe and supportive environment where members can share their thoughts, reflections, and personal experiences. Our book club is open to all who are willing to engage in thoughtful discussions about death and dying and is an opportunity to reflect on our own lives to make the most of the time we have left. In addition, we want to explore the concept of a “good death” and “dying well”. This often encompasses elements such as personal autonomy, pain management, emotional support, spiritual well-being, and the ability to say goodbye on one’s own terms.

Join us as we embark on a journey to explore the end of life, to reflect on the meaning of our existence, and to find solace and connection within a community that understands the delicate beauty of life’s endings.

Special notes: This is not a grief or bereavement group. Books that deal with Medical Aid In Dying (MAID), Death with Dignity and VSED (Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking) will be included in the books that are chosen.
